Depending on arm power and need, he or she can simply turn the z50 on or off using the joystick and move the wheelchair manually when desired. The auxiliary drive increases the patient’s activity radius and opens up newfound freedom.
Proven VSI Control Unit
The z50 automatically contacts itself and can be activated with a joystick using the proven VSI control unit. Its reliable, conventional drive technology is very powerful. The swinging anti-tipper helps to overcome curbs and therefore makes the z50 especially suitable for daily use.
The wheelchair remains collapsible after the drive wheels are installed. The patented hinge lock makes it possible to disassemble the z50 in just a few easy steps for transportation and changing to standard wheels.
The z50 is operated using 2 x maintenance-free gel batteries, achieves a maximum speed of six km/h, and has a range of approximately twelve kilometres. The allowable load is 125 kilograms.
The z50 is not only suitable for converting most of Otto Bock manual wheelchairs, but also for many other makes please ask.
Z50 JOYSTICK
The Z50 is joystick controlled with rechargeable battery pack located underneath the seat. The battery can be charged by plugging the charger into the joystick overnight. An optional accessory is available enabling the battery to be charged away from the wheelchair. Most of our customers purchase an additional battery which means one is on charge whilst the wheelchair is out being used.
When traditional self propelling is required you simply move the blue lever on the outside of the hub motor to disengage the drive.
When the motors are not required simply remove the Z50 from the wheelchair and replace with traditional quick release manual wheels (very easy to do)
